Jurassic Park

The movie I choose to review this week was Jurassic Park directed by Steven Spielberg. It is about John Hammond, a man who is trying to create a theme park that features real life dinosaurs that is called Jurassic Park. He recruits a team of a paleontologist, Dr. Alan Grant, a paleobotanist, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and a mathematician, Ian Malcom, to come to the island to decide if the theme park is safe enough to open to the public. While taking a tour of the island the dinosaurs escape and start to attack the team along with John Hammond’s grandchildren. Eventually almost everyone escapes the island safely aside of a few characters that were killed by the dinosaurs. The cast includes Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Richard Attenborough.
Jurassic Park is probably one of the biggest movie series of all time. No matter the age almost everyone has seen one of the Jurassic Park and it has a monumental effect on people even today. It had brought to screen the most realistic dinosaurs that people had sen before despite the fact that some of the dinosaurs in the film are not accurate to what they looked like when they were alive. When Tyrannosaurus Rexes were alive they actually had feathers on them but today everyone thinks that they have scales and were more reptile like because Jurassic Park has influenced people so much. It was one of the very first movies in history to use computer generated imagery or CGI. Nowadays when people see any monster or creature in a movie it is usually created by CGI. If you go to the next new Marvel movie the villain or superheroes could be made up of entirely CGI. For example a fight between Hulk and Thanos would be made of the most part all CGI. However CGI was not the only effect used in Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park used dinosaur animatronics, a life size inanimate objects that resembles a real life object, in the film as the T-rex in some scenes. Even though the more came out more than 20 years ago the effects still live up and is sometimes better than the effects that are used today. It did not rely entirely on CGI that films do today.
I had never seen any of the Jurassic Parks before but I had always heard about how great the movies are and how I should watch them. I think that it lives up to the hype that it gets. There was a lot of action and adventure that kept me wanting to keep watching it. The character played by Jeff Goldblum was my favorite character in the movie because he added some comedy to the movie. The children in the movie started to get annoying to me because they were always needing to be saved and were usually just making the situation worse. I am definitely interested in watching the sequels to Jurassic Park and the new Jurassic World series. Hopefully with the Jurassic World they make the dinosaurs more accurate to when they were alive To anyone who has not seen the movies before I would recommend watching them.
